At the Junior League of Sarasota (JLS), we are committed to empowering women to become leaders in their communities. Our mission is to advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training.

Why Training Matters

Training is a cornerstone of our organization. We believe that by equipping women with the necessary skills and knowledge, we can foster a generation of capable, confident leaders who will drive positive change in our community.

Our Commitment to Training

In 2024, JLS invested $26,161 in training programs, demonstrating our dedication to the professional and personal development of our members. We offered 11 training sessions led by JLS members and provided 7 wellness-related trainings to ensure the well-being of our members.

What We Offer

Through JLS membership, women are given hands-on opportunities to enhance their leadership skills in various areas:

• Project Planning: Learn to design, organize, and manage projects that make a real difference in the community.
• Fundraising: Gain expertise in raising funds to support community initiatives and nonprofit endeavors.
• Networking: Build a strong network of like-minded women and community leaders to share ideas and collaborate on projects.
• Board Training: Prepare for leadership roles within nonprofit sector by understanding governance, fiduciary responsibilities, and strategic planning.
• Event Planning: Acquire the skills to plan and execute successful events that engage and inspire the community.
• Problem Solving: Develop the ability to identify challenges and create effective, innovative solutions.
• Marketing and Outreach: Master the art of promoting our initiatives and connecting with the community to drive engagement and support.
• Communication Skills: Improve your ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, to inspire and lead others.
